Recommended parks for camping in Pingshan

In recent years, the number of people going camping has spiked as outdoor activity lovers look to break the monotony of life to experience the beauty of nature. Due to increasing human impact, eco-camping is very important. In Shenzhen, citizens are allowed to pitch tents in designated areas in parks and a tent should be no larger than 5 square meters nor taller than 1.5 meters. Cooking with fire is prohibited in tent areas in parks, smoking is not allowed inside tents and campers should not stay overnight in parks.

Here are some recommended parks for camping in Pingshan:

Pingshan Central Park 坪山中心公园

There’s a large lake inside Pingshan Central Park. In addition to camping, parkgoers can also check out an array of cultural venues nearby, such as the Pingshan Art Museum, Pingshan Library and Pingshan Theater.

Open: 5 a.m.-10 p.m.

Metro: Line 14 to Pingshan Square Station (坪山广场站), Exit C

Julong Mountain Ecological Park 聚龙山生态公园

Julong Mountain Ecological Park is very spacious with massive greenery, lakes and wetlands. In spring, residents don’t have to travel far to other districts to appreciate cherry blossoms as the park has pink and red cherry blossoms, as well as water lilies and peach blossoms.

Open: 6 a.m.-10 p.m.

Metro: Line 14 to Kengzi Station (坑梓站), Exit B and then take a taxi

Julong Mountain Ecological Park

Guangzu Park 光祖公园

Only 2 kilometers away from Julong Mountain Ecological Park’s north entrance, Guangzu Park is also an ideal place for camping where citizens can admire the pinkish-purple lily magnolia in spring.

Open: 5 a.m.-10 p.m.

Metro: Line 14 to Kengzi Station (坑梓站), Exit B and then take a taxi

Jingui Camping Town 金龟露营小镇

Jingu Camping Town is located in Tongshi Village, Jingui Community, Shijing Subdistrict. With the philosophy of “green, healthy, ecological and environmental protection,” this rural camping and leisure base integrates camping with Hakka culture, art, agricultural science and sports.

Open: All day

Jingui Camping Town

Tangkengshui Park 汤坑水公园

With vast grassland, a 2.4-km-long lakeside greenway and an 11,000-square-meter mango forest, the park is a family-friendly place for waterfront leisure.
