The stations are equipped with facial recognition self-service ticket machines, and support various ticket checking methods. The SkyShuttle’s stylish appearance was designed by Wolfgang Egger, a world-renowned auto designer. Its body looks like that of a rising dragon, an adaptation of a classic Chinese figure. Dawan Ancestral Residence

Dawan Ancestral Residence, built in 1791, is China’s largest and most completely preserved Hakka-style square compound. It covers an area of 25,000 square meters and has more than 400 rooms. The residence includes six houses in the site’s front, interlinked by tall walls connected by corridors. Turrets were built at the four corners to ward off enemies.

In 2002, it was classified as a provincial protected historical site. Over the past few years, the Pingshan District People’s Government has renovated Dawan Ancestral Residence into a cultural base featuring Hakka food, crafts, and cultural and creative products. In addition to existing exhibitions on Hakka culture, new modern art exhibitions have also occasionally been held at the residence, along with bazaars, light shows, workshops and concerts, to attract more visitors to experience Pingshan’s Hakka culture.

Maluan Mountain Biling Waterfalls

Maluan Mountain is renowned for its large waterfalls, old Hakka villages, breathtaking natural scenery, and thousands of species. Summer is the best season to see large waterfalls in Biling Valley in the west part of the mountain, where the waterfalls cascade in varying forms. The sounds of water splashing add to the coolness in the mountain. Hiking in the mountain, which is acclaimed as a “natural oxygen bar,” one can see the continuous mountain range and a variety of geologic features formed by streams. In the dense forest, there is also a myriad of creatures, including rarely seen birds.
