The Dongjiang Column Memorial Hall, opened in 2000 in Pingshan District, showcases over 900 historical documents, photos, and personal items from veterans. The exhibition features oil paintings, installations, and multimedia works that recreate significant scenes from the history of the Dongjiang Column of the Guangdong People’s Guerilla Force Against Japanese Aggression.

Recognized as a base for patriotism education and CPC history education, the memorial hall honors the legacy of the Dongjiang Column, which was formed in 1943 after several reorganizations and expansions of the original guerilla force. The Dongjiang Column played a crucial role in the South China battlefield during the fight against Japanese aggression.

Zeng Sheng, a native of Pingshan, served as commander of the Dongjiang Column. A replica of his former residence, designed in traditional Hakka architecture, is located near the memorial hall, displaying old photos and personal items belonging to Zeng.

Additionally, the old site of Qianjin News is also located near the memorial hall. Originally built in the late 18th century, the site was first a school for local villagers and later served as a hospital for the Dongjiang Column. Qianjin News was the official newspaper of the guerrilla force, covering the wartime news and inspiring local people. Old printing machines and archived newspapers are now on display.
