Hong Kong pop duo Left Alan Right Hacken, comprised of veteran singers Alan Tam and Hacken Lee, will hold a 10th anniversary concert Aug. 30 at Shenzhen Bay Sports Center.
Tam, 64, played a major role in developing the Cantopop scene in the 1980s, as he was known for singing romantic ballads with modern arrangements. Today, he is still active in the music and film industry. As of 2013, Tam had launched 115 solo albums and sold over 35 million records worldwide. He also holds the record for holding the most concerts in Hong Kong as a solo artist.
Lee, 47, is also a lyricist and actor. Known for his crystal-clear vocals, Lee has swept away numerous Best Singer awards over the years. Apart from his excellent singing career, Lee has also helped many nonprofit organizations promote their work and fundraise for their projects.
In 2003, Tam and Lee teamed up for a major world tour entitled “Left Alan Right Hacken.” The name is a play on a Chinese idiom that means “neighbors.”
Up to 2013, they had performed around the world in China, the United States, Canada, Australia, Britain, Singapore and Japan with over 100 concerts.
