International movie star Jackie Chan will collaborate with a string of singers at his concert at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center in August. The stars include Joey Yung, Gigi Leung, Leo Ku, Jimmy Lin, Zhang Liyin, Rain and Super Junior-M.
Chan has released 20 albums since 1984. He often sings the theme songs of his films. His Cantonese song “Story of a Hero” (theme song of “Police Story”) was selected by the Royal Hong Kong Police and used in their recruitment campaign in 1994.
In 2007, Chan recorded and released “We Are Ready,” the official one-year countdown song to the 2008 Summer Olympics, which he performed at a ceremony marking the one-year countdown for the 2008 Summer Paralympics. Chan also performed “Hard to Say Goodbye” with Andy Lau, Liu Huan and Wakin Chau at the 2008 Summer Olympics closing ceremony.
Yung has won numerous awards including the prestigious JSG Most Popular Female Singer and Ultimate Best Female Singer awards a record-breaking eight times, thus emerging as one of the premier Cantonese singers in Hong Kong. She is ranked 52nd on the Forbes 2013 Chinese Celebrity List, making her the highest paid Hong Kong-based Cantopop singer.
Ku is a Hong Kong pop singer, actor, TV host, model, cartoonist, MV director, producer and designer. Ku was selected as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons of Hong Kong in 2005 by the Hong Kong SAR Government. He is one of the few Cantopop artists who employ the use of falsetto.
Zhang, also known in South Korea as Jang Ri-in, is a Chinese singer active in China and South Korea. Zhang was nicknamed the “Chinese BoA.”
Super Junior-M, often referred to as SJ-M, is a Mandopop boy band formed in 2008. Super Junior-M is the third and most successful subgroup to have branched off from the South Korean band Super Junior.
Rain is a South Korean singer, actor, songwriter, dancer, model, producer and designer. His musical career includes seven albums, 28 singles and numerous concert tours around the world.
