Thanks to pop queen Faye Wong’s rendition of the song “Legend” at the 2010 China Central Television’s Spring Festival Gala, singer/songwriter Li Jian has attracted much more attention than before, even though he composed and has been singing the song since 2003.

Now Li will bring the song and a number of his other masterpieces to Shenzhen audiences.

During his study at Tsinghua University from 1994 to 1998, Li was recognized by his peers for his musical talent, especially his guitar virtuosity.

Campus ballads were in vogue at that time, and Li crossed paths with senior alumni Lu Gengxu, who shared the same musical aspirations. In March 2001, they established the pop duo Shuimu Nianhua.

After the two prodigies split in 2002, Li went on to pursue his solo career. In 2003, Li released his own debut album “Evanescence of Life.” Following the album’s success, Li released his second album “Coming for You” in January 2005, and third album, “Missing You,” in 2007. The ballad singer’s poetic lyrics stirred his fans’ nostalgia for the innocence of their own campus days.
