Nashville SMZ Trio, comprised of three teachers from Belmont University School of Music in the United States, will perform at the Shenzhen Concert Hall.
The three musicians, violinist Elisabeth Small, cellist Zhang Xiaofan and pianist Robert Marler, will perform Dvorak’s “Trio No. 4 in E Minor,” Corigliano’s “Red Violin Caprices,” Shostakovic’s “Trio No. 1 in C Major, Op. 8,” Debussy’s “Reflets Dans L’eau,” Sibelius’ “Malinconia Op. 20,” Schubert’s “Trio No. 2 in E-Flat Major, Op. 100, D929” and Morricone’s “Cinema Paradiso.”
Marler was a faculty member at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Marler is a frequent soloist, chamber musician, orchestral musician and accompanist throughout the United States.
Zhang is a member of the Nashville Symphony Orchestra. He has served as cello faculty at the Miami University School of Music and Middle Tennessee State University School of Music.
Small serves as artistic director of Belmont Camerata, the resident faculty ensemble. She served as associate concertmaster of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra for two years.
