The five orchestras are the Philharmonie Leipzig, Macao Youth Symphony Orchestra, Russian National West Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, Shenzhen Youth Symphony Orchestra and Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra.
The activity is organized by the Futian District Government and local theater management, performance and ticketing company A.C. Orange.
Chinese violinist Lyu will be featured on the night of Nov. 12. He became the first Chinese violinist to win the gold medal at the Paganini Competition in 1987. He is known for his smooth and controlled bow movement, as well as his rich and lyrical tone. Last year, the Futian District Government hired him as the district’s cultural adviser to promote Futian’s cultural exchange with the outside world and to enhance Futian’s cultural profile.
Last autumn, the Lianhua Hill Grass Music Festival attracted tens of thousands of audience members. The festival also advocates environmental protection and calls for audience members to collect garbage at the park. The festival organizer will donate books to children with autism.
Futian District has organized a string of musical events in local communities and offered free tickets via WeChat, such as the annual percussion festival, hip-hop festival and lunchtime concerts in office buildings and Chinese folk music concerts at schools.
