Two great exhibitions in Macao

If you will travel to Macao this summer, don’t forget to check out two interesting exhibitions at Macao Museum of Art. Entry is free.

Renaissance drawings

The exhibition “Italian Renaissance Drawings From the British Museum” comprises 52 drawings by 42 masters, dating from 1470 to 1580. Artists include Mantegna, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Titian, Raphael and Rosso Fiorentino, among others.

Divided into six sessions, namely “The Human Figure,” “Movement,” “Light,” “Costume and Drapery,” “The Natural World” and “Storytelling,” the exhibition explores some of the themes that characterize Renaissance art, starting from the core study of the human form, to explore how artists brought life and dynamism to their compositions through the study of movement, light and shade, and costume.

‘Beauty in the New Era’

The Macao Museum of Art and the National Art Museum of China is co-organizing “Beauty in the New Era: Masterpieces From the Collection of the National Art Museum of China.”

The exhibition features nearly 90 works by 14 modern and contemporary famed artists from the collection of the National Art Museum of China in Beijing, aiming to fully present the development of Chinese fine art along more than 100 years. Highlighted artists include Xu Beihong, Zhang Daqian, Lin Fengmian, Liu Haisu, Wu Zuoren and Wu Guanzhong.

Dates: Until July 28
