The second Pingshan Midsummer Night Beer Carnival kicked off Aug. 28 at Pingshan District Central Park and will run through Sept. 6, offering 10 nights of vibrant entertainment.

The opening attracted large crowds, beginning with a striking fusion of traditional Yingge dance and robot performances. Hundreds of drones then lit up the sky, forming messages such as “Innovative Pingshan, City of the Future” and “Come to Pingshan, Build the Future,” as well as images of the Shenzhen Natural History Museum and the district’s mascot, Pingzi.

The venue is divided into four themed zones — Delicious Island, Carnival Island, Trend Island and Joy Island — featuring a main stage, bar counters, a food street and a creative lounge. A giant beer-themed installation and multiple Instagrammable spots add to the festive summer atmosphere.

Sixteen local vendors are showcasing products made in Pingshan, intangible cultural heritage items and theater ticket deals, blending local culture with creative offerings.

Visitors can also scan their carnival or museum ticket stubs through the “坪山好自然” WeChat miniprogram to access exclusive discounts at more than 60 merchants, turning a single ticket into multiple discounts.

The carnival is also partnering with major shopping centers in Pingshan, including Yitian Holiday World, Yuelin SPACE and Rainbow Department Stores, to offer additional promotions across the district.
