Belgrade-born French twin artists Slobodan Peskirevic and Vladimir Peskirevic are exhibiting their works in the “Twin Difference” exhibition at Pingshan Art Museum.

Both trained in Paris, the twins have remained active in Europe’s art scene for decades. Their work has been shown in cities including Paris, Geneva, and Belgrade, and has become part of numerous institutional and private collections.

Working across painting and sculpture, the artists’ practice is marked by strong compositional structure, rhythmic color relationships, and imagery that shifts between abstraction and symbolic figuration. Through layered forms, transformations, and spatial tension, their works balance formal order with emotional intensity.

A key feature of the exhibition is the sustained dialogue between the two artists. While sharing the same origins, they have developed different sensibilities, and their artistic paths have gradually diverged over time.

Taking “dual individuality and the generation of difference” as its central theme, the exhibition presents the artists’ works in parallel, allowing visitors to see how artistic language evolves between proximity and divergence.

Gao Ninghong, the exhibition curator, said she hopes visitors will rethink difference — its causes, its meaning, and how we perceive it. “Learning to embrace difference within our shared humanity matters more than ever,” she said.

Liu Xiaodu, director of Pingshan Art Museum, added that the exhibition connects art with psychology, anthropology, and biology. He believes art’s purpose is to recognize differences, seek common ground, and achieve mutual recognition.
