The 2026 Greater Bay Area Flower Show is being held at Bijiashan Sports Park in Futian District. The Pingshan section showcases a timeless charm, creating a dialogue between intangible cultural heritage and nature. By combining Pingshan’s century-old intangible cultural traditions, the GBA ecological vision, and modern design, the section creates an immersive spring garden — inviting visitors to experience a romantic encounter between flowers and culture.

Irises take center stage, with blue-purple blooms placed gracefully across the meadows. Ornamental grasses and new flower varieties add texture and depth, forming dynamic scenes that sway in the breeze — striking a balance between refined garden artistry and natural charm. The planting design echoes wild plant communities, offering layered landscapes across seasons and aligning with Pingshan’s philosophy of “nature everywhere.”

The design in the Pingshan section also reinterprets the imagery of a half-moon pond, a typical element of Hakka housing complexes in Pingshan. Through landscape design, it engages in a conversation with tradition and modernity — alongside the architecture and LED installations of the Shenzhen Natural History Museum. Here, intangible cultural heritage is not treated as a static exhibit, but as a living presence woven into the space.

Winding pathways in the flower show echo the curve of the Pingshan River. The area is made for lingering — pausing to admire the irises or wandering slowly through the interplay of nature and culture. In the heart of the city, it offers a calm sanctuary.
