A conference was held yesterday to discuss how to address major problems that may hamper the future development of Pingshan.

According to the conference, major obstacles against the development of Pingshan cover different areas including industrial innovation, urban planning and administration, and sectors related to people’s livelihoods. Several solutions to improve progress were adapted.

To solve problems in industrial development, Pingshan will accelerate the construction of an index system to evaluate innovation and an index system to evaluate the quality development of the Pingshan high-tech zone.

In terms of healthcare, Pingshan will coordinate and improve the district’s medical resources and expedite healthcare projects in cooperation with medical institutions.

To facilitate the development of transportation, more work will be done to speed up the construction of a more convenient and efficient comprehensive traffic network, including promoting the Pingshan high-speed railway station’s function as a transportation hub, building more Metro lines as well as highways, and reducing traffic jams within Pingshan.

According to the conference, Pingshan will also further exploit available lands to provide high-quality industrial spaces as it has an incomparable advantage in land use compared to other areas in Shenzhen.
