The SMS Pingshan Innovation School, a nine-year public school commissioned to Shenzhen Middle School for daily operation by the Pingshan government, was unveiled Friday.
The school covers an area of 31,625 square meters and will provide 2,520 school places. This Sept.1, it will receive its first batch of students in Grade One and Seven.
In addition to regular rooms and facilities including 54 classrooms and 29 laboratories, the school also has rooms for special purposes including AI, pottery, chorus, traditional Chinese music and other classes. These rooms are set up based on the concepts of self-learning, teamwork, group discussion, presentation and scientific innovation.
The school also has different sports facilities including a comprehensive gymnasium, a swimming hall and a sports field. Students can also have fun in an unwalled activity area that covers 8,000 square meters.
Students can also learn about different plants at a vegetable farm and a plant science garden. The sponge city science garden is also an ideal place for students to explore nature.
In addition to a two-floor library, the school also has many book corners and mobile book machines.
