Pingshan District saw a surge in visitors to its scenic spots, cultural venues and shopping areas during the National Day holiday, with total tourist numbers rising 28.5% year on year, tourism revenue increasing 31.85% and the cumulative number of hotel guests climbing 41.17%.

Maluan Mountain Country Park received 118,000 visitors, while parks across the district attracted families and young travelers, highlighting Pingshan’s ecological value and recreational appeal within the Shenzhen metropolitan area. A packed lineup of cultural and tourism events further boosted foot traffic. Shopping areas also recorded a 15% increase in customer visits and a 7% growth in revenue compared with the same period in 2025.

The Shenzhen Natural History Museum was one of the holiday’s top attractions and has remained busy since opening. Its eight themed halls trace the story of the universe, Earth and life, with dinosaur skeletons, rare minerals, animal and plant specimens and interactive light installations engaging visitors of all ages.

Outside the museum, Pingshan Wetland Park offered families the opportunity to stroll along the Pingshan River. Nearby hotels and a range of dining options further enriched the visitor experience.

At Maluan Mountain, the newly opened 9.4-kilometer cycling route emerged as a holiday favorite, attracting cyclists and families eager to ride through shaded forest trails. Many visitors noted that the abundant tree cover kept the route cool and refreshing. Urban parks, including Pingshan Central Park and Dashanpi Park, also drew large crowds, with lakeside cycling and lawn camping proving popular leisure options close to home.

Jingui Village’s eco-art community was also bustling with activity. Its nature library and boutique homestays attracted young visitors, breathing new life into the century-old village.

Meanwhile, the Pingshan Art Museum and Pingshan Exhibition Gallery hosted VR experiences, multimedia sound art and exhibitions of works by renowned artists. At Changshou Dramaville, shadow puppetry, script readings and theater workshops added distinctive charm to the ancient lanes.

Increasingly, residents and visitors are choosing Pingshan as a holiday destination not only for its shows and exhibitions, but also for its nature walks and family activities. With every visit, the district offers something new to discover.
