BYD’s Denza N8L electric vehicle, equipped with the AI super-agent Didi Xia, was launched on Sept. 14, marking the debut of what the company calls the auto industry’s first AI super-agent.

Yang Dongsheng, senior vice president of BYD Group and president of its Automotive New Technology Research Institute, said Didi Xia uses advanced agent-scheduling technology to automatically interpret users’ intentions, coordinate tasks, and control the vehicle. Unlike traditional in-car voice assistants, it has both skills and memory, allowing it to listen, see, and feel.

Li Hui, general manager of Denza, said the new model offers exceptional charging efficiency: A five-minute charge provides enough power to get going, while nine minutes can fully charge the vehicle. At -30℃, a full charge takes only three minutes longer, Li said.

By the end of this year, BYD plans to build 2,000 flash-charging stations along China’s expressway network — roughly one every 100 kilometers — covering all 36 major national expressways, Li added.
