BASiC Semiconductor (stock code: 9971.HK), a power semiconductor company based in Pingshan District, was listed on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on July 8.
Founded in 2016 by a team with backgrounds at Tsinghua and Cambridge, the company focuses on the R&D, design and manufacturing of silicon carbide (SiC) power devices. It is among the few Chinese IDM (integrated device manufacturer) companies with full-chain, independently developed capabilities in SiC power devices.
After a decade of development, BASiC Semiconductor has achieved core technological breakthroughs. Its products are widely used in new energy vehicles, photovoltaic energy storage, industrial control, AI data centers, and rail transit. According to Frost & Sullivan, BASiC ranked sixth in China’s SiC power module market by 2024 revenue, and third among domestic companies.

The company relocated to Pingshan in 2018, where it has grown into a local benchmark in hard technology. Through ongoing investment in Pingshan, BASiC is advancing the development of a manufacturing base for automotive-grade SiC modules.
The company plans to leverage the international capital raised through the stock market to expand production capacity, accelerate R&D innovation, and build a global distribution network.
Pingshan has formed a complete semiconductor and integrated-circuit industrial cluster, hosting more than 200 high-quality enterprises across equipment, design, manufacturing, packaging, testing, and applications. For five consecutive years, the cluster’s output has maintained double-digit growth, while the district’s chip manufacturing capacity accounted for over 50% of Shenzhen’s total in 2025.
