Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) and Beijing Pop Mart Cultural & Creative Co. Ltd. have signed a strategic partnership agreement aimed at developing industry standards for the designer toy sector, advance scientific innovation, and cultivate talent.
The collaboration will focus on the development of industry standards, quality testing, product design, and supply-chain solutions. It will also train interdisciplinary professionals with expertise in both design and quality control. Internship platforms will be established to facilitate efficient sharing of resources and know-how between the university and the company.
SZTU Party Secretary Chen Qiuming said the university is committed to applied research in Shenzhen’s cultural sector, smart manufacturing, and standardization. He added that SZTU will leverage its strengths in materials science, engineering, and AI to support the cultural industry’s move toward higher-value development.
Pop Mart Vice President Yuan Junjie said the partnership responds to the industry’s urgent need for unified standards and professional talent as it expands rapidly.
The two sides have previously co-developed 15 group standards and launched a micro-major in quality and standardization as part of a national pilot program. Their joint teaching model has also been recognized by the National Development and Reform Commission as a best practice for industry-education integration in emerging fields.
