On April 10, the right-line shield tunneling for the Nantangwei Station-People’s Hospital Station section of Shenzhen Metro Line 19 began. The start of tunneling marks a critical phase in excavation and a major step forward in expanding Pingshan’s rail transit network.
The first phase of Metro Line 19 runs within Pingshan District, from Nantangwei Station in the Biling area to Julong Station in the Zhukeng area. Spanning approximately 14.487 kilometers with 12 stations, the line will, once completed, extend Metro coverage to all six subdistricts of Pingshan — connecting with existing Lines 14 and 16.
The new line will link major hubs including Biling, the Pingshan Central Area, the High-Tech Park, and Julong, significantly reducing travel times across eastern Shenzhen and helping ease local traffic congestion.
Line 19 will also provide convenient transfers to the Shenzhen-Daya Bay Intercity Rail. This will further strengthen Pingshan’s role as a transportation hub in Shenzhen’s eastern center, making travel more convenient for residents, improving their quality of life, and adding momentum to high-quality economic and social development in the region.
