Pingshan-based BYD unveiled its new energy vehicles, the Denza Z9GT and the Denza D9, at the Palais Garnier in France on April 8. Under the theme “Technology Drives Elegance,” the flagship models’ European debut marks a new milestone in Denza’s global strategy and showcases the strength of Pingshan’s smart manufacturing.
The Denza Z9GT, a high-performance GT, is built on BYD’s e³ technology platform and is offered in both pure-electric and plug-in hybrid variants. The pure-electric model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds. It also features independent rear-wheel steering, enabling advanced low-speed maneuvers such as turning on the spot and crab walking in tight spaces.
The Denza D9 DM-i, Denza’s flagship plug-in hybrid MPV, offers a 210 km pure-electric range and a 950 km combined range, aiming to balance strong performance with everyday usability.
A key highlight of the event was the European debut of BYD’s flash-charging technology, based on the second-generation Blade Battery, with a maximum charging power of 1,500 kW. With this technology, the Denza Z9GT can charge to full capacity in 9 minutes at room temperature and in 12 minutes at -30 degrees Celsius.
Priced from approximately 115,000 euros, the Denza Z9GT is available for online ordering in seven European countries, including France, Germany, Italy, and Spain.

BYD is teaming up with James Bond actor Daniel Craig to launch the new Denza Z9GT in Europe. Denza plans to expand to more than 30 European countries by the end of 2026, supported by over 150 retail stores. BYD will also build 6,000 flash-charging stations worldwide, including 3,000 in Europe.
BYD’s momentum continues to build: in 2025, revenue exceeded 800 billion yuan, net profit reached 32.6 billion yuan, and new energy vehicle sales climbed to 4.6 million units, ranking first globally. Its R&D investment totaled 63.4 billion yuan in 2025, with cumulative R&D spending surpassing 240 billion yuan.
