Local NewsOn Oct. 28, the 2025 Automotive Chip Ecosystem Conference and the annual meeting of the China Automotive Chip Standard Testing and Certification Alliance were held in Pingshan. The event brought together representatives from automakers, chip companies, industry organizations, and research institutions.
During the conference, China Automotive Chip (Shenzhen) Technology Co. Ltd. was established to advance platform development. The company was set up as a legal entity jointly formed by multiple automotive enterprises under the Central Government and will oversee 13 high-standard automotive chip testing laboratories covering key areas such as functional safety, information security, and reliability, along with three industry platforms and a national quality standards laboratory for automotive chips.
These platforms will support the construction of a national automotive chip standards system by conducting standards research, testing and certification, industry promotion, application demonstrations, international cooperation, and technical exchanges. They aim to address challenges in deploying domestically produced chips in vehicles, accelerate the localization of high-end automotive chips, and strengthen the collaboration between domestic chipmakers and automakers.
At the conference, China Automotive Chip signed strategic cooperation agreements with 18 leading companies across the industry chain. Two major ecosystem achievements were also unveiled: in-vehicle wired high-speed media transmission (HSMT) and the fifth-generation reduced instruction set computing (RISC-V) architecture for automotive-grade chips.
These breakthroughs are expected to accelerate localization of core hardware for smart vehicles and upgrades to electronic/electrical architectures in China, providing a secure and controllable technical foundation for key scenarios such as autonomous driving and smart cockpits.
Several leading companies received certifications for functional safety, information security, reliability, and other aspects of automotive-grade chips. In addition, a pilot-scale verification and demonstration project for automotive-grade chips was launched to encourage enterprises to use the pilot platform jointly and shorten the time to mass production.
The achievements announced cover the entire automotive chip industrial chain, offering comprehensive support to the sector and contributing to efforts to build China into a major automotive power.
Also introduced at the conference was China’s first public service platform for standard verification of automotive-grade chips. The platform will promote the development and verification of automotive chip standards in China, enhance testing and certification, improve product quality, and address application challenges for domestic automotive chips.
Going forward, the China Automotive Chip Standard Testing and Certification Alliance will continue to deepen industry collaboration, accelerate breakthroughs in core automotive chip technologies and their industrialization, and promote high-quality development of China’s automotive chip industry.
