Pingshan District saw tourism revenue jump 78.8% year-on-year and welcomed 402,000 visitors during the recent eight-day National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, official statistics show. The district staged a variety of family‑friendly events that blended nature, culture, food and retail to attract residents and tourists alike.
A notable boost came from Pingshan’s “ticket-stub economy,” which linked different spending scenarios and turned a single purchase into multiple transactions. Audience members presenting performance ticket stubs received discounts at hotels, restaurants and shops, helping to drive broader consumption.

Programming at Pingshan Theater — including music concerts and a stand‑up comedy show — drew not only local residents but also visitors from Hong Kong and Macao. Every evening of the holiday, the campsite at Pingshan District Central Park hosted lively activities, providing opportunities for amateur performances, night markets and discounted shopping.
Cultural offerings across the district catered to all ages. During the holiday, cultural venues in Pingshan recorded 52,110 visits, up 4.22% year-on-year, according to the data.

Favorable weather also encouraged outdoor leisure. Pingshan is now home to 100 parks, many with tranquil natural settings and convenient facilities that attracted people to fly kites, picnic, enjoy coffee or exercise outdoors during the holiday.
Retail promotions further stimulated spending. The Outlets operated 10 pop-up stalls in Pingshan District Central Park during the holiday, selling discounted apparel, bags and shoes. Events such as Rainbow Department Stores’ traditional dance shows and intangible cultural heritage fairs, Yuelin Space’s lucky draws and free film screenings, and Yitian Holiday World’s food festival and performances all helped convert foot traffic into sales.
Overall, major shopping complexes in Pingshan reported a 29.3% year-on-year increase in visitors and a 20.7% rise in revenue during the holiday, underscoring robust consumer demand.
