On June 17, more than 40 autonomous delivery vehicles gathered at the Grand Logistics Industrial Park in Pingshan District for debugging and testing, in preparation for efficient logistics during the June 18 shopping festival.

The vehicles included autonomous delivery models from Meituan, SF Express, and JD, as well as freight trucks and retail vehicles. They navigated complex simulated road conditions while undergoing comprehensive tests such as cargo loading and unloading as well as system stability assessments.

A representative from the Shenzhen Association for Intelligent Connected Transportation said this large-scale joint testing served as a practical trial to ensure stable and efficient autonomous delivery during the June 18 shopping festival. It also demonstrated Shenzhen’s advanced autonomous delivery technology and its role in reducing costs and enhancing efficiency in the logistics industry.

Staff at the site introduced a white SF Express functional unmanned vehicle — the Neolix fourth-generation X3. The vehicle’s 12 high-definition cameras and two LiDAR sensors provide approximately 120 meters of coverage at both the front and rear. The vehicle can accurately recognize lane markings, traffic lights, and other objects within a 30-meter range, ensuring zero blind spots in object detection and road condition assessment for safe operation.

Shenzhen’s autonomous delivery industry is rapidly developing, leading the nation in the operational scale of functional unmanned vehicles. Currently, nearly 300 such vehicles are in service in the city, ranking first nationwide in operational density, with numbers expected to exceed 1,000 by the end of 2025.
