During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, nearly 100 events and shopping promotions were held in Pingshan District, offering diverse experiences for residents and tourists alike. From May 31 to June 2, the number of tourists in Pingshan increased by 12.16% year-on-year, while tourism revenue soared by 67.52% compared to the same period last year.
A three-day temple fair at the centuries-old Dawan Ancestral Residence blended tradition with modernity. Festive activities at this traditional Hakka compound allowed visitors to admire intangible cultural heritage handicrafts, participate in workshops, savor local delicacies, and enjoy digital light shows, kylin dance performances, and guzheng music.

On International Children’s Day, Pingshan Library and Pingshan Cultural House hosted a series of child-friendly events, including children’s fairs, games, and talent shows. Meanwhile, promotions on cars, home décor, electronics, and digital products, along with trade-in programs, boosted local spending.
On May 31, Mexican tenor Javier Camarena performed classical opera excerpts in a solo concert at Pingshan Theater, following his masterclasses held there on May 28-29. At the Pingshan Art Museum, a new exhibition on sound art opened, accompanied by two children’s painting exhibitions at Pingshan Exhibition Gallery. Visitors described Camarena’s concert as a world-class musical feast, while the sound art exhibition offered fresh insights into the sounds of the city.
