Eighty teachers and students from Lingnan University in Hong Kong recently visited Pingshan District to explore collaborations in industries, academics, and research, as well as in innovation, employment, and entrepreneurship.

They visited Edan Instruments Inc., BYD Co., Sinopharm Zhijun (Shenzhen) Pingshan Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., and Snibe Diagnostic. The visits to these prominent enterprises offered invaluable insights into the companies’ products, technologies, and innovative ventures. The teachers and students expressed their newfound appreciation for Pingshan’s industries and anticipation of fostering partnerships with outstanding companies in the future.

During their visit to the Shenzhen Talent Institute’s East Division, the Organization Department of the CPC Pingshan District Committee (District Talent Work Bureau) and Investment Promotion and Service Bureau of Pingshan District provided an in-depth overview of Pingshan, highlighting its industrial development strengths and talent policies. The visit allowed Hong Kong youth to immerse themselves in Pingshan’s innovation and entrepreneurship atmosphere, unveiling multiple new development prospects and collaborative avenues.

Prof. Larry Qiu Dongxiao from the Department of Economics in Lingnan University emphasized Pingshan’s unique advantages, citing its lush natural environment characterized by rivers and mountains, alongside a robust science and technology ecosystem conducive to entrepreneurial pursuits. He underscored the supportive policies and favorable climate in Pingshan’s three key industries of “intelligent vehicles,” “innovative medicines,” and “China-made chips.” Enthusiasm has been sparked within the university to contemplate future collaborations and exchange programs in industries, academics, and research with Pingshan.
