Pingshan District is making significant strides in advancing science education in public primary, middle, and high schools through an innovative initiative. Academicians and leaders from scientific research institutions and technological companies have been invited to serve as vice principals focusing on science in the schools.

With Pingshan being a hub for numerous scientific research institutions and national high-tech companies, this initiative aims to leverage their scientific and technological expertise and innovation to enhance the science curriculum. The collaboration seeks to promote scientific knowledge, facilitate practical activities, and broaden students' academic horizons.

In a move to further cement this initiative, the Pingshan District Science Education Alliance has been established, drawing support from prominent institutions and companies specializing in new energy vehicles, intelligent manufacturing, biomedicine, and new-generation information technology.

Wang Zhihan, chairman of Bronze Technologies in Pingshan, has been appointed as vice principal of science for the Shenzhen Middle School Pingshan Innovation School. He emphasized the importance of integrating cutting-edge technologies into basic education, bringing valuable educational resources to Pingshan students, and providing enhanced practical opportunities, all with the aim of nurturing a generation of scientifically adept and knowledgeable students.

Li Zigang, director of Shenzhen Bay Laboratory's Pingshan Translational Medicine Center, has been appointed as vice principal of science for Pingshan Zhongshan Middle School and Shenzhen Zhongxin Middle School. He is committed to expanding science access for Pingshan students and cultivating a pipeline of skilled engineers and scientists for the nation.

Lin Junhong, principal of Xinhe Experimental School, said that science education goes beyond imparting knowledge; it is also about fostering students' scientific thinking, exploratory skills, and innovative spirit. She outlined plans to organize student practical experiences at member institutions of the Pingshan District Science Education Alliance, including reputed hi-tech companies, research institutions, and universities, to stimulate students' scientific curiosity and passion.
