Pingshan District’s 2024 Economic High-quality Development Conference on Feb. 20.

Pingshan District held its 2024 Economic High-quality Development Conference on Feb. 20, underscoring the key role of economic development in driving other sectors’ high-quality development in the district.

Yang Jun, secretary of the CPC Pingshan District Committee, noted that Pingshan has a prosperous future thanks to the presence of enterprises with significant potentials, a vibrant market, rapidly evolving urban infrastructure, continuously improved public facilities, diverse cultural, sports and tourism events, and the booming development across many other sectors.

He pointed out that Pingshan should focus on its industries and manufacturing, striving to be a strong support for Shenzhen’s effort in becoming a world-leading advanced manufacturing hub. 

Yang specified that Pingshan should concentrate on developing its “6+3” industrial clusters: six industrial sectors with international competitiveness (intelligent connected vehicles, semiconductor and integrated circuit, high-end medical devices, biomedicine, new energy, and intelligent terminal), and three industrial clusters with potentials (cell and gene, low-altitude economy and aerospace, and culture, sports and tourism).

He emphasized the need to establish a better industrial environment to enhance company coordination, innovative platform connectivity, and cooperation among universities and R&D institutions.

He stressed that it is necessary for the district to nurture and advance new productive forces, enforce more supportive policies for enterprise R&D, and continuously improve the innovation environment, where research, technology, commercialization, finance, and talent development are seamlessly integrated.

He also noted the importance of investment, as well as the use of industrial spaces and land, for creating a quality business environment. 

In addition, the conference unveiled insights into the “6+3” industrial clusters, the key investment catalogue, plans for intelligent connected vehicle development, and measures for biomedicine high-quality development, and scientific and technological innovation high-quality development.
