41 key projects planned in Pingshan for 2024

Forty-one major projects with a total investment of over 100 billion yuan will be carried out in Pingshan District this year, according to Shenzhen's key project plan draft for 2024 released by the city’s development and reform commission recently. 

The 41 projects include 20 modern industrial projects, 17 projects to improve people's well-being, and four infrastructure projects, covering Pingshan's three dominant industries (intelligent vehicles, innovative medicine, and China-made chips), as well as transportation, housing, healthcare, education, culture and sports. In 2024, 15.9 billion yuan will be invested in the projects.

The Pingshen International Digital Logistics Park will be built at the intersection of Zhulan East Road and Cuijing Road in the Zhukeng area. It's within Shenzhen Hi-tech Industrial Park's Pingshan core zone, adjacent to central Kengzi and the export processing zone. Covering 114,000 square meters and with a floor area of 447,800 square meters, the logistics park will have four factory buildings.

The Pingshan District People's Hospital will be relocated and reconstructed in Biling Subdistrict in the Shahu area. It will be situated to the south of Kehuan Road and to the east of Huangzhukeng Road. The hospital will cover 111,700 square meters, with a floor area of 458,000 square meters.

The Laplace Photovoltaic High-end Equipment R&D and Production Headquarters Base will be built at the intersection of Rongtian Road and Danqing Road in Kengzi Subdistrict. With a land area of 25,400 square meters and a construction area of 107,200 square meters, the base will include advanced production factories and R&D equipment.

Other projects include BYD Power Battery Research Center, Shenzhen S.C. New Energy Technology Corp.'s Semiconductor Equipment Industrial Park, Powev's Science and Technology Park, Pingshan Sports Settlement, Pingshan Boulevard (north section) renovation project, Xi'an-Baoji High-speed Railway's Pingshan Section (Dongzong Road) renovation project, Shenzhen Pingshan Senior High School's Comprehensive High School, Shenzhen 38th High School,,Shenzhen Talent Institute's East Branch Sports Center, and Shahu Water Plant Phase 1.

As an urban hub in east Shenzhen, Shenzhen Hi-tech Industrial Park's core zone, and a future industry test zone, Pingshan achieved a GDP growth of 18% year on year in 2023, faster than other districts (including Dapeng New Area) in the city. It also retained its top spot in Shenzhen in other sectors, such as its fixed-asset investment, up 20.9% year on year.
