Leading experts and scholars gathered at the International Summit on Cell Therapy in Pingshan on Dec. 16, discussing the trends and future of cell therapy. During the summit, the Shenzhen Cell Valley South China Cell Factory has also been put into operation.

The global cell therapy industry has made significant achievements in precise treatments for diseases such as cancer, and the cell therapy industry is increasingly recognized as a key emerging industry for the future. From its official launch to its operation, the Shenzhen Cell Valley South China Cell Factory project has been improving its technology and production processes to meet market demand and clinical requirements. Through innovation and collaboration, it aims to provide better treatment options for cancer patients, address core material issues in the cell therapy industry and drive medical progress.

As a significant project in the cell and gene therapy industry in Pingshan, it will provide services and technical support for enterprises, facilitating the application of cell and gene therapy technologies from the laboratory to clinical stages. The project has established a cell therapy research system and four major service platforms, and in the future, it will join forces with over 100 experts and professionals from home and abroad for the further development of the biomedicine industry.

At the summit, many attendees recognized Pingshan’s efforts and achievements in industrial planning, policy support and platform construction for the development of the biomedicine industry. Pingshan has now become a popular place for numerous international biomedicine companies and innovative drug research centers, as well as for talents.

At the summit, the project representatives signed comprehensive strategic cooperation agreements with the Shenzhen Institute for Drug Control and the Shenzhen Polytechnic University tocollaborate on the development of new pipelines based on retroviral vectors, investigator-initiated trials, investigational new drug applications, the establishment of cell therapy testing standards, and technical talent education and training.
