The People’s Government of Pingshan District and Huawei become strategic partners.

The People’s Government of Pingshan District on Dec. 7 signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement with Huawei, a leading global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices.

According to the agreement, both parties will leverage their strengths and continue to conduct in-depth strategic cooperation on various areas such as digital economy, digital society, digital government and digital ecology, driving the smart city and digital government construction in Pingshan.

Huawei will utilize its advantages in digital technology to assist Pingshan in digital infrastructure construction, and provide technical support in fields such as education, healthcare, transportation and culture. Cooperative initiatives on digital ecology summits, cutting-edge technology exchanges, and professional talent cultivation have also been stressed.

“Both sides will regard each other as top strategic partners in the field of ICT technology,” said Xu Zhijun, Huawei’s deputy chairman and rotating chairman.

In recent years, the People’s Government of Pingshan District and Huawei have conducted cooperation in areas such as information infrastructure construction, digital twin city construction, intelligent social governance, and intelligent connected vehicle (ICV) industries.

Earlier this year, the only ICV test field in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was launched in Pingshan. Additionally, Pingshan’s intelligent social governance digital twin platform was recognized as an exemplary case of national digital twin city technology applications. Integrating big data and social governance, the Pingshan National Intelligent Social Governance Experimental Base was also recognized as a demonstration base for the national key research and development program “Digital Fengqiao.”

In the future, Pingshan will propel the construction of smart cities and the digital transformation and upgrade of industries, accelerating the implementation of cooperation in digital economy, digital society, digital government and digital ecology. The district will also explore the applications of advanced technologies such as the Internet of Things, digital twin and large-scale artificial intelligence models for urban governance, handling of public inquiries and industrial upgrading.
