On Nov. 23, smart device maker Honor rolled out its 1 millionth foldable smartphone of this year at the Honor Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park in Pingshan District.

“When the lifecycle planning of a single series reaches 1 million units (as is the case with Chinese foldable smartphones), this indicates that the technology has transitioned into the productization stage,” U.K. research website Omdia commented in an article about Honor’s achievement.

“Reviewing the trajectory of Chinese brands in the foldable smartphone landscape, progressing from single models in the 100,000–200,000 range to the 300,000–500,000 range signifies their journey from 0 to 1 in both product and market endeavors. They are gradually moving from a laboratory stage to a market trial stage,” Omdia wrote in the article.

On Nov. 17, Honor announced that the company ranked first in China’s smartphone market and foldable smartphone market in the third quarter of this year. The company's growth in overseas markets also doubled this year. On Nov. 23, Honor unveiled its impressive Honor 100 series with cutting-edge features.

Honor's self-funded factory, the Honor Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park, opened in Pingshan in November 2021. The park handles new product quality control certification, flagship device production, new technology and new manufacturing mode incubation, and others. This intelligent manufacturing park has facilitated Honor’s achievement of rapid development, enabling it to manufacture a phone in an average of just 28.5 seconds.
