A delegation from Pingshan visited Hong Kong on Nov. 9-10 to seek high-tech projects and enhance the exchange between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
At the City University of Hong Kong, the delegation learned about the university’s latest developments in scientific research and innovation, such as the lithium-rich manganese-based cathode materials research, the GUTolution, and the Seth Biotech projects. Both sides discussed cooperation in industries, academia, research and talent development.
At the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd., the delegation learned about the characteristics and advantages of the exchange as a preferred platform for mainland companies seeking financing, as well as the latest reforms in Hong Kong listing policies. The delegation hopes to explore new mechanisms for integrating industrial, technological and financial resources, as well as drive the growth of Pingshan high-tech enterprises by utilizing the capital market.

During the visit to InvestHK, both parties discussed establishing cooperative mechanisms and organizing investment promotion seminars. To support Pingshan enterprises to go global and attract foreign investment, the district hopes to cooperate with InvestHK and utilize Hong Kong's bridging role connecting domestic and overseas enterprises. For multinational corporation projects, Pingshan aims to use InvestHK's global resource platform and advantages in service industries such as finance and taxation, in combination with Pingshan’s manufacturing, to attract international investment.
At the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the delegation learned about the MicroMag project and the Hong Kong Center for Logistics Robotics. Pingshan had previously signed an agreement with the center, focusing on cooperation in areas such as the construction and resource sharing of the GBA intelligent connected vehicle test site, talent cooperation and training, and industrial implementation.

At the Pingshan-Hong Kong Biomedical Industry Exchange Meeting held at the HK Bio-Med Innotech Association, the delegation discussed with representatives from the Hong Kong SAR Government's Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises, Hong Kong Science Park, Simcere Pharmaceutical Group Ltd. and Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical (Group) Co. Ltd., plus over 20 other biotech-related enterprises and institutions.
During the meeting, Professor Lo Yuk-lam from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology expressed that since Pingshan possesses a strong industrial clustering advantage in biomedicine, he believed that Hong Kong and Pingshan could complement each other, achieve mutual benefits, and develop deeper and more diversified collaborations in biomedicine.
