On Sept. 26, the Organization Department of the Pingshan District Committee of the CPC (Talent Bureau of Pingshan District), the Foreign Affairs Bureau of Pingshan District, and the Longtian Subdistrict Office organized the ninth “Pingshan in the Eyes of International Talents” event to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.

More than 30 talents from China, Belgium, Pakistan, the Netherlands, India and Iran participated in the event. Those included Ekumi Ivo Otte, an expert from the Shenzhen Samii Medical Center, and scientists Juan Keymer and Janneke Noorlag from the X-Institute. Under the guidance of teachers, the participants made mooncakes, lanterns and fans. They also took part in traditional Mid-Autumn Festival activities such as playing games and solving riddles, experiencing the charm of traditional Chinese culture.

Dutch scientist Noorlag said: “After participating in this event, I learned that lanterns symbolize happiness and unity of families. This is my first time to make lanterns, and I wrote this blessing on the lantern: ‘Wishing Pingshan, a land of talents, prosperous and flourishing.’”

Belgian Andy Daniel said: “I have been working in China for 12 years, and I like Pingshan, where my company is based. The industrial concentration here is high, and the policies are very supportive. We have been frequently invited to participate in talent events, which makes me feel very warm.”

The “Pingshan in the Eyes of International Talents” event, organized by the Organization Department of the Pingshan District Committee of the CPC (Talent Bureau of Pingshan District), aims to promote the exchange and cooperation of international talents, provide a platform for them to offer suggestions, and encourage them to inject new vitality into the innovative development in Pingshan.
