The CUHK Medical Clinic and Global Medical Group signed a memorandum of understanding Oct. 14 to establish a comprehensive medical center in Pingshan District, aiming to be the first high-end medical center in Shenzhen to be built by a Hong Kong private hospital.

The CUHK Medical Clinic, as a specialist clinic of the CUHK Medical Center, provides a broad range of medical services to patients. The CUHK Medical Center is a nonprofit, private teaching hospital that is fully owned by The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Following the nonprofit principle, all surpluses generated from healthcare services are reinvested into the hospital for development and to the CUHK Faculty of Medicine for research and teaching.

The new medical center will be located at Chaoshang Plaza in Pingshan, offering a variety of specialties and services in the form of multiple private clinics. Global Medical Group had previously signed a memorandum of understanding with the Clarity Eye Center to jointly establish an ophthalmology clinic at the new medical center. Additionally, a dental clinic will also open in the near future.

The medical center will introduce high-quality medical resources from Hong Kong, inviting Hong Kong doctors to provide treatment through either remote or onsite diagnosis. Advanced management and cutting-edge technologies will be integrated into every aspect of the services, providing personalized and high-standard medical services for residents in Shenzhen and the Chinese mainland.

Meanwhile, in-depth exploration will be conducted to improve cross-border medical services, and exchanges in healthcare personnel education and training will be enhanced.
