CATL Qiji, a subsidiary of Fujian-headquartered CATL, held a launch ceremony in Pingshan on Oct. 10, to operate its heavy-duty truck battery swap solution.

CATL, a global leader in new energy innovative technologies, on June 12 introduced its self-developed all-in-one heavy-duty truck chassis battery swap solution called Qiji Energy, which provides a fast, low-cost and environmentally friendly refueling solution for electric heavy-duty trucks.

On June 16, the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with CATL for cooperation in key areas such as electric vehicle battery swapping and green industrial parks.

Currently, CATL Qiji has registered and settled in Pingshan. As the global business operation center for CATL’s heavy-duty truck battery swapping in Shenzhen, CATL Qiji is building a heavy-duty truck battery swapping industry ecosystem, and driving the global development of heavy-duty trucks, battery swapping equipment, and comprehensive battery swapping platforms.

CATL Qiji has also signed agreements with Shenzhen companies such as Acecamel Technology, DST and Giant Logistics, for cooperation in long-haul logisticsand port and land transportation, for jointly creating a green transportation network, and to accelerate Shenzhen’s low-carbon and green transport transformation.

Zhu Zhengliang, general manager of CATL Qiji, stated that the launch of Qiji Energy in Shenzhen is CATL’s response to national policies and serves as an important advancement in new energy vehicle (NEV) industry. CATL will continue to improve its technological strength and market competitiveness, contributing to NEV development.
