Celebrating holidays with Pingshan events

A series of events will be held in Pingshan from Sept. 27 through Oct. 6 to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day, provide locals and tourists with opportunities to experience traditional Chinese culture and encourage tourism and spending in the district.

The opening ceremony will take place in Pingshan District Central Park at 7 p.m. Sept. 27, with additional venues located in the six subdistricts, as well as at various shopping malls, supermarkets, cultural and sports halls, and hotels.

During the opening ceremony, there will be flash mobs, a food market, games, handicraft workshops, and folk performances in the park, which will be adorned with rabbit installations and images of Pingshan landmarks. The park’s bustling atmosphere will be further enhanced with its installation of bright lanterns.

Twenty booths will invite visitors to taste Hakka pastries, mooncakes, and tea, allowing citizens and tourists to fully experience the charm of traditional culture in a lively atmosphere. Guzheng performances and children’s poem recitations will showcase the elegance of literati culture and promote traditional Chinese culture to celebrate the 74th anniversary of our country.

Meanwhile, acrobatics, magic tricks, Sichuan opera face-changing, and clown interactions will also be presented. Traditional intangible cultural heritage inheritors and local cultural figures will also participate in the opening ceremony.

The six subvenues will organize a variety of activities for the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day, including handcraft activities for families, stress reduction workshops and exhibitions. Pingshan Cultural House and Pingshan Theater will host concerts, while shopping malls and other businesses will offer shopping, cars and accommodation promotions.
