The International Consultation on Central Area Planning and Core Zone Urban Design for Pingshan has been launched to solicit urban design proposals. Now it is open for registration by design institutions from home and abroad.
Located in the eastern part of Shenzhen, Pingshan District serves as a key gateway for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Science and Technology Innovation Corridor. The district is composed of four areas, the central area, the hi-tech zone, the Bihu area and the Maluan Mountain ecological area.
As the eastern center of Shenzhen, Pingshan bears the strategic mission of being a core supporting area of advanced manufacturing, a high-tech industry cluster, and a future industry experimental zone. The urban planning and design work in the central area should be in accordance with the ecological development.
The scope of its international consultation includes three parts: research, overall urban planning and design, and detailed core zone urban design. The research will cover the entire Pingshan District, as well as taking into consideration the coordinative relationships with surrounding areas, including Longgang District’s Baolong Subdistrict, Dapeng New Area, Yantian District, Huizhou’s Daya Bay Economic and Technological Development Zone and Huizhou’s Huiyang District.
The overall urban planning and design project will cover a total area of 46.4 square kilometers, from Jinlong Boulevard in the west to Lanjing Road in the east and from the Songzikeng Reservoir in the north to the Nanping Expressway in the south.
The detailed core zone urban design project will cover an area of approximately 6 square kilometers, from the west side of the Shenzhen Pingshan Comprehensive Bonded Zone in the east to Shenshan Road and Dongzong Road in the west, and from Danzi Road West in the north to Jinniu Road and Pingshan Boulevard in the south. The specific urban design will be focused on approximately 2.7 square kilometers in the eastern section of the core zone and approximately 1.6 square kilometers in the western section of the core zone.
Registration is open to candidates from around the world with no qualification requirements. Candidates must be independent legal entities, and individuals are not accepted. Candidates familiar with China and those who have similar design experience will be given priority.
