Every weekend, local residents gather at Pingshan Soccer Park to watch the First “Innovative Pingshan Cup” Shenzhen Subdistrict Soccer Tournament matches.

Nicknamed the “Subdistrict Super League,” the soccer tournament, launched in May, invited 12 teams from 12 subdistricts across Shenzhen, including two from Pingshan: the Longtian Subdistrict Team and Kengzi Subdistrict Team. It runs through August and presents 70 matches on weekends, promoting the development of soccer in Shenzhen.

Pingshan Soccer Park is a comprehensive soccer field and an essential part of Pingshan’s public sports facilities. During the tournament, it has been acclaimed by locals thanks to its professional field and comfortable environment. A soccer player expressed excitement in an earlier interview, saying, “The field is excellent, and the feeling of running on the field is wonderful. We are confident of winning the game.”

“Friends from all over the city who love soccer are now gathering here, and I haven’t seen such a scene for a long time,” said a soccer fan surnamed Liu. Another fan surnamed Zhang brought his child to the site and said, “When watching the game, you can feel the players’ struggle and passion. It is also an excellent opportunity for children to know about sports and competitions.”

The Third Pingshan District Citizen Sports Festival has also been launched, unveiling 10 high-end events, five district-level leagues, and more than 20 sports activities to be held throughout this year in Pingshan.
