Rehabilitation aids have huge potential in China, and at present, rehabilitation aids have been included in the 20 strategic emerging industries and eight future industry clusters that Shenzhen focuses on. As the biopharmaceutical hub of Shenzhen, Pingshan District has the first national-level biopharmaceutical industrial base in the city, and has gathered more than 1,000 biopharmaceutical and high-end medical device companies. The number of medical device registration certificates in the base accounts for more than one-third of the city’s total, providing a solid foundation for developing the rehabilitation aids industry.

In May 2022, the Shenzhen Intelligent Rehabilitation Aids Industry Base (Greater Bay Area Assistive Device Innovation Center) was unveiled at Pingshan Rehabilitation Aids Industry Park. A number of innovative companies such as RHB-Tech Medical, XFT and Alicn have settled there.
