The Pingshan Art Museum’s “All-region Art Museum Bus Tour” project has recently won the 2022 Shenzhen Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Innovation Award.

Hosted by Pingshan District’s culture, sports and tourism bureau and curated by the Pingshan Art Museum, the project was launched in May 2022 to mark the art museum’s third anniversary. Double-decker sightseeing bus tours were organized for visitors to view the city’s landmarks, natural scenic spots and design and art venues. Workshops were also held at the art museum and on the buses.

In the project, the art museum organized some flash mobs and interactive activities for locals, integrating contemporary art into public transportation and providing citizens with in-depth artistic experiences. On the bus tours, citizens were invited to discuss or create works related to urban design, natural ecological education, contemporary art, and other topics, deepening their understanding of the city and the environment. The project has expanded the boundaries of the art museum, made contemporary art exhibitions more accessible, and benefited nearly 30,000 citizens.

The “All-region Art Museum Bus Tour” is part of Pingshan District’s initiative to extend cultural activities in parks, factories, schools and communities. The Pingshan Art Museum has also collaborated with other local cultural institutions, such as the Pingshan Cultural Center and Pingshan District Dancers Association, to form a symbiotic cultural atmosphere in the city, bringing wonderful art experiences to the public and displaying Pingshan’s innovative vitality.
