The main structure of Pingshan People’s Hospital’s new campus was topped out on March 31, and the construction process will move on to the installation of mechanical and electrical equipment and interior furnishings, according to a report by Pingshan Media Center.

The project is one of the district’s key engineering projects to promote people’s wellbeing and the largest single-building development that will serve for public services in Pingshan. It will be fully completed and handed over to the hospital on Dec. 31, 2024, and will become a healthcare center in the east of Shenzhen after it is put into service, the report said.

The project, located in Shahu Community of Biling Subdistrict, covers an area of 111,658.74 square meters and has a construction area of 464,437.29 square meters. Upon completion, it will provide a total of 2,000 hospital beds.

With respect for nature, the planning of the project is adapted to the local conditions by preserving the surrounding mountainous terrain. In addition, a mountainous park is also created within the hospital to prevent smoke and noise and to provide a quiet environment.
