A total of 12 new schools and kindergartens in Pingshan have been put into service for the new semester that started this month.
The new educational institutions include four high schools, four nine-year schools, one primary school and three kindergartens.
The four high schools consist of three municipal-level public high schools located in Shenzhen Experimental High School Park, and Shenzhen Julong Science High School, a district-level public high school. The new high schools will provide a total of 11,000 school admissions in 222 classes.
The four nine-year schools are Jinxiu Experimental School, Pingshan School Affiliated to SUSTech, the second phase of Xinhe Experimental School and Keyuan Experimental School. The new primary school is Keyue Experimental Primary School. The three new kindergartens are Xinhe Kindergarten, Bihu Kindergarten and Zhukeng Baozhangfang Kindergarten, which will provide 1,260 pre-school education seats.
In recent years, Pingshan has put forth great effort to improve its public education. Over the past five years, it has invested nearly 17.3 billion yuan from its fiscal expenditure in its public education, with an average yearly growth of 33.58%.
