Shenzhen Metro’s bike-on-board service

Cyclists in Pingshan District can bring their bikes on Shenzhen Metro trains on weekends and public holidays to access many of the city’s popular cycling routes. Electric bikes are not allowed on board.

The service is available on selected stations along Lines 2, 3, 6 (including the spur line), 7, 8, 11, 14 and 16. In Pingshan District, participating stations include Jinlong (锦龙), Pingshanwei (坪山围), Kengzi (坑梓) and Yanzihu (燕子湖).

These lines connect riders to scenic greenways and recreational areas across the city, making it easier to combine rail travel with cycling excursions. For example:

Line 2: Shenzhen Bay near Houhai Station

Line 3: Dafen Station, Universiade Station

Line 6: Maozhou River Greenway near Loucun Station, Hongqiao Park Station, Science Park Station

Line 7: Xili Lake Station; Shenzhen Reservoir and Donghu Park near Tai’an Station

Line 8: Wutong Mountain South Station; beaches near Dameisha and Xichong stations

Line 11: Coastal areas near Qianhaiwan and Bihaiwan stations

Line 14: Maluan Mountain and Dashanpi Park near Jinlong Station; Pingshan River near Pingshanwei

Line 16: Pingshan River Park near Yanzihu Station

Bike packaging and boarding: Bikes must be placed in special protective bike bags provided at the station and secured by Metro staff at the entry point. A refundable deposit of 50 yuan is required. Wheel diameter must not exceed 28 inches. Riders with bikes must board designated carriages.

Fares: Single trip is 35 yuan per person; round trip is 65 yuan per person; group round-trip (15 or more riders) is 60 yuan per person

Refund policy: Fares are refundable only on the day of purchase and only at the station where the ticket was bought.

Reservations: Advance reservation is required. Call the Shenzhen Metro customer service hotline at (0755) 88960600. Individual riders should book at least one working day in advance; groups must book at least three working days ahead.
