Owners of electric bicycles (e-bikes) registered in Shenzhen are eligible for a one-time government subsidy of 500 yuan when they trade in an old e-bike and buy a new one under the city’s latest replacement program. Subsidies are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and will be available until funding runs out.

Consumers should trade in locally registered e-bikes (including batteries) and purchase new e-bikes that cost at least 1,500 yuan. Each person may submit only one subsidy application.

To qualify, applicants must: sell their licensed e-bike to an authorized recycling and dismantling enterprise and obtain a scrapping-and-recycling certificate; purchase a new e-bike that complies with national standards; ensure the scrapping-and-recycling certificate and the new vehicle sales invoice are dated between Jan. 1, 2025, and the subsidy policy end date; note that new vehicle registration date may fall between Jan. 1, 2025, and Jan. 10, 2026; and be the same person as the holder of the scrapping-and-recycling certificate, the owner of the newly purchased e-bike, and the subsidy applicant.
