The 10-story Pingshan Library spans a floor area of 13,000 square meters, providing more than 800 seats and housing a collection of 1.2 million books. It has also joined the citywide borrowing and returning service platform, allowing readers to return books borrowed from Pingshan Library at any participating library in Shenzhen.
The Pingshan Library features a dedicated vinyl space where visitors can listen to hundreds of vinyl records and thousands of CDs.

In 2018, Chinese philosopher, writer, and scholar Zhou Guoping was appointed the library’s first director. His writings encompass a wide range of styles, including prose, poetry, documentary writing, and translations of foreign works.
In 2021, the library received second prize at the Green Library Award presented by the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA).
