Spring is synonymous with vibrancy, and Pingshan is currently adorned with flamboyant flowers that brighten its parks and streets. The floral fragrances and vibrant hues intertwine, creating a breathtaking tapestry of blooms. So grab your camera — this stunning beauty is too magnificent to miss!

Pingshan River (坪山河)

The pink trumpet trees are quite common in Shenzhen, although the shapes and colors of their flowers can vary. During their peak blooming period, which typically lasts through March, these trees burst into full bloom, resembling a beautiful canopy of vibrant “wind chime” clusters. A great spot to enjoy the dazzling pink flowers is Qilong Road (启隆路) by the Pingshan River.

Julong Mountain Ecological Park (聚龙山生态公园)

Julong Mountain Ecological Park boasts vast greenery, lakes, and wetlands. In spring, residents don’t have to travel all the way to Japan to appreciate cherry blossoms, as the park features pink and red cherry blossoms near its south entrance.

Maluan Mountain Country Park (马峦山郊野公园)

March and April are the best months to admire birdwood’s mucuna flowers. With their distinctive curved petals, these wildflowers are among the most beautiful in Pingshan. The 6.5-km-long Mucuna Trail, which stretches from Huangzhukeng Village in the north of Maluan Mountain to the Gengzi First Uprising Old Site, offers the best views of these abundant wildflowers. Along the trail, there are 10 designated spots to view the flowers, which have adorned this land for tens of thousands of years, making them an indispensable part of the ecosystem.
