The Linking Plan, a comprehensive initiative focused on ecological restoration and environmental enhancement, was launched in Pingshan in May 2024, marking the start of a series of public activities.

The plan is founded on extensive surveys that have identified various micro barriers in urban areas, including drainage ditches, water-collection wells, sand retention ponds, dams, embankments, irrigation channels, roads, and other human-made structures. These barriers can encroach on wildlife habitats and impede animal movements, leading to entrapment.

Prioritizing the specific needs of animals, the plan emphasizes the preservation and enhancement of microhabitats, as well as the rescue of trapped wildlife. Tailored strategies for ecological rejuvenation and environmental improvement are being implemented, encouraging society to construct small, easily implementable facilities that reduce human interference with local wildlife, thereby providing a safer, more convenient, and harmonious living environment.

Now through March 23, works from the Linking Plan are on display at the “Pingshan Station” space near Gangxia North Metro Station. Visitors can vote for their favorite works on-site and, in return, receive complimentary refrigerator magnets. Those who leave comments on the works, post about them on WeChat Moments, and receive more than 30 likes will be eligible to claim a set of cultural products.
