The Shenzhen Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reminded travelers in the following three situations to make a report to their communities, companies or institutions or hotels, undergo nucleic acid tests, and take medical observation or health monitoring if necessary.
The three situations are: travelers who have arrived in Shenzhen from Dongguan, especially Dalang Town, since Dec. 5, travelers who took Flight CZ3226 from Xi’an to Shenzhen on Dec. 4 and travelers who may have shared the same itinerary with confirmed COVID-19 cases.
CDC also advised commuters between Dongguan and Shenzhen to do health monitoring themselves and undergo nucleic acid testing once every other day.
On Monday, two people were confirmed asymptomatic COVID-19 cases in Dalang Town, Dongguan after nucleic acid tests were conducted on those returning from COVID-19 affected areas outside Guangdong, according to the Dongguan COVID-19 prevention and control office.
The cases, a man and woman, took Flight CZ3226 to Shenzhen, arriving at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport at 11:48 p.m. Dec. 4. They hailed an app-based cab to Dalang Town at around 1 a.m. Dec. 5.
After two rounds of nucleic acid tests, the two were confirmed asymptomatic cases and were transferred to a designated hospital for treatment.
Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport has also tightened its virus prevention and control measures. All departing air travelers are required to have their body temperature checked and show their health and travel codes. Travelers who have visited or lived in Dongguan within 14 days before departure are required to provide a negative nucleic acid test result issued within 48 hours; otherwise, they will not be allowed to board, sources from the airport said.
As of 12 p.m. yesterday, a total of 199 close contacts had been screened out and sent for isolation. All of their nucleic acid test results were negative, according to a press conference held in Dongguan yesterday.
In addition, a total of 802,369 Dalang residents had undergone the tests, and 255,292 negative test results had been issued as of press time.
All residents in the three towns neighboring Dalang, namely Dongkeng, Liaobu and Changping, must undergo nucleic acid tests, according to the local virus control offices. The testing started yesterday.
In order to stop the spread of COVID-19, all roads in and out of Dalang Town, except Guanzhang Road, have closed to most vehicles since yesterday.
Only vehicles with permits for COVID prevention and control, nucleic acid testing and emergency rescue are allowed to use the roads.
