Map of baby care rooms unveiled

A MAP of Shenzhen’s baby care rooms has been put online, showing the location and relevant information of more than 500 baby care rooms that have been put into use, the Shenzhen Evening News reported yesterday, citing information released by Shenzhen Women and Children’s Development Foundation.

Residents can search for baby care rooms nearby or in designated locations by following the WeChat account “sznvsheng,” “sz-wcdf” or “gh_641635fa7815.” Information including the environment, facilities and operating hours of each nursery room is shown on the map. Additionally, residents can not only post comments about each care room but also share their favorites with friends and relatives via WeChat.

The map was jointly produced by Shenzhen Municipal Working Committee on Women and Children Affairs and Shenzhen Women’s Federation, the report said.

In 2018, the construction of baby care rooms was listed as one of the city’s livelihood projects, and the city has been working on the improvement of public baby care rooms. According to an action plan on building a child-friendly city between 2018 and 2020, Shenzhen will have over 800 baby care rooms by 2020.
