SHENZHEN plans to open a total of 19 roads in nine administrative districts and areas for smart driving tests, according to catalogs released by the city’s transportation commission Friday, the Shenzhen Evening News reported yesterday.

The first batch of roads opened for testing include 19 enclosed areas covering a total of 30 square kilometers. The total road mileage runs about 124 kilometers, covering Futian, Nanshan, Yantian, Bao’an, Longhua, Longgang and Pingshan districts as well as Guangming and Dapeng new areas.

It has been reported that the conditions for applying for a road test in Shenzhen have been further refined and that each testing vehicle should be accompanied by at least one safety officer.

Meanwhile, each testing vehicle should carry out no less than 1,000 kilometers of tests in the corresponding area in accordance with relevant requirements.

According to the city’s traffic authority, those who want to carry out smart driving tests and meet the test requirements can select suitable roads from the catalogs according to their needs.
